Allan Hayes fine art nature photography

Allan grew up in a small town on the outskirts of the advancing LA sprawl. The most powerful memories from his childhood came from exploring the fields and orchards around his home and from the many trips to the mountains, deserts and coastal areas that surround Los Angeles. At a young age, nature cast a spell over him that has just grown more powerful over the years.

He enjoys art of all kinds and believes it is through art that we get our deepest glimpse into the souls of others to share something of their personal experience of being alive.

If you spend time with Allan, you will quickly notice he connects everything to our "primal past", the millions of years of transition evolving to become human. This is how we were forged, and most of this time we were deeply connected to the natural environment. Reconnecting with nature is a way of coming to understand and enjoy our deeper layers. The sophisticated rigors of modern times are only a thin, shiny film on the surface of who we are. Shiny, complex and ever changing, this commotion on the surface does not change the deeper structure that defines us. Allan’s goal is to create art that helps us enjoy our connection to the natural world.

Allan founded Emerson-Hayes, a brand and marketing communications firm, which he runs successfully in the heart of Silicon Valley. The firm is considered a powerhouse, setting trends and known for its captivating concepts and imagery and motivating communication.

But underneath it all, he always yearned for the true freedom of artistic expression, and nature provided the subject matter that was irresistible. "When I am in nature, everything is clearer. I feel more truly awake - alive."

Throughout the years, Allan spent a growing amount of time exploring natural settings, from the Himalayas to the volcanic craters of Hawaii. This passion for the natural environment led him to begin experimenting with photography as a way to express the deeper meaning in the human relationship with nature. He has been developing a body of work that is rapidly achieving recognition and acclaim for the highly focused mandala like visions from the natural world. As one person viewing his work once said "I often find myself drawn into one of these pieces for many minutes at a time. I think I know what it is – these aren't one liners!"
