Wyant M. Lauterman is a commercial helicopter and jet pilot, who also works for several international firms as an aviation consultant. "I am very fortunate in that my profession allows me to fly all over the world, many times to exotic diving locations." Though his interest in aviation developed while he was in the U.S. Navy, his love of the underwater environment began years before when he was thirteen years old, snorkeling under the boat docks in Westlake Village, California. Wyant has now been diving for over thirty years, and holds NAUI Advanced, and PADI Rescue Diver Certificates. His primary focus in diving is photography; both digital and 35mm film. One of his most recent adventures has been diving and photographing the relatively unexplored reefs of the new nation of East Timor, (four hundred miles Northwest of Darwin, Australia). His favorite dive sites around the world are The North Wall in Grand Cayman, Farnsworth Bank at Catalina Island, K-41 in East Timor and “The Magnet” in South Lombok, Indonesia. Wyant participates in a wide range of other outdoor activities, which include sailing, tennis, hiking, and skiing. He currently makes his home in Malibu, California. He has a great collection of underwater photographs taken in hard to reach corners of the globe! |
